The School of Languages and Liberal Arts (SOLLA) is proud to be associated with this website. As we are all aware, English has taken on a greater prominence in our everyday lives. Fluency in English in the present global environment is of great importance. IICP's promise of excellence is very evident from the variety of English courses on offer. It gives me great pleasure to be able to welcome you to one of our courses in the near future.

SOLLA or the School of Languages and Liberal Arts is housed at its very own English Language Centre located at Block B (1st floor). Other than complementing our mainstream courses with English courses specifically for a particular course of study, SOLLA has an ongoing IELTS/EIP (English Improvement Programme) for both local and foreign students. This is offered under the IELTS Programme. Levels 1 and 2 are related to Level 3 which culminates in the IELTS for students wishing to take the test. The third level has been tailored to include the IELTS course structure and students who complete this level are encouraged to take the IELTS examination. The course fee is RM2,400 per level. This IELTS/EIP course also encompasses on-line computer based learning which is included in the cost.

So far, SOLLA Penang has organized a number of in-house English courses for staff members. Other than that, a TESL Seminar cum Workshop was organized in July 2003 involving secondary school English Language teachers. Recently two English Camp for secondary school students were held within the college campus.
