School of Science and Mathematics (SOSAM)
Introduction
[top]The School of Science and Mathematics has a faculty of about 14 lecturers and is responsible for the science and mathematics courses required by the various academic programmes offered by the College. In addition, the School conducts two programmes: The New South Wales Higher School Certificate HSC (Australian Matriculation), and Australian Degree Transfer Programme (Biotechnology and Life Sciences). The HSC programme offers a wide range of subjects, thereby allowing students to further their studies in diverse fields such as Accountancy, Computer Science and IT, Engineering, Law, Psychology, Medicine, Pharmacy and Allied Health Sciences and Life Sciences. The Australian Degree Transfer Programme at INTI allows tranfer arrangements leading to world class degree from our partner universities. We strive to provide quality education in the sciences and mathematics and to inculcate among students a holistic approach to education and life-at-large by helping them to become thinking individuals with a view of the aesthetic side of human nature.
To support the teaching of the sciences, the School operates 4 laboratories (one each of chemistry, physics, biology and molecular bioscience). Three preparation rooms support the laboratories.
