Programme Description

Engineering is fundamental to the economic and social prosperity of Malaysia and the surrounding economies. It is the profession responsible for the creation of all material objects and systems necessary for modern life from concept to customer to decommissioning. Engineering is fundamental to the creation and sustainability of the environment itself. Your studies at INTI College Penang, will be a foundation for life aimed at developing a deep understanding of fundamental and advanced technical principles, analytical tools, and competence in their application, together with a wide range of management, personal and professional skills.

Electrical and electronic engineering is the practical application of electrical science and technology to the solution of problems in industry, commerce and society. This exciting and rapidly developing field will continue to be the technological revolution of the 21st century.

This Electrical and Electronic Engineering course is fundamental to a successful career in the IT Industry, electronics manufacturing, electronic product design, robotics and communications industries. It is a challenging course requiring creative and innovative skills. Some of the course content includes robotics with BASIC Stamp technology, sensor and actuator circuit design with Microchip technology, digital circuit design using ALTERA Quartus II software, RF and microwave circuit design using Agilent ADS2005 software.

GENERAL FEATURES

We aim to produce BEng graduates who are imaginative, innovative, versatile and competitive, who will be able to progress rapidly to professional positions of responsibility with minimal additional training, and who can provide technical, managerial and entrepreneurial leadership in specialist/interdisciplinary projects. This aim is achieved by:

• Delivering a broad range of challenging studies and introducing core material in the early years, before developing more advanced concepts, techniques and discipline specialities in the final year.

• Developing broad subject knowledge and understanding, discipline skills, a good level of business and management knowledge and transferable skills, all of which enable graduates to pursue further studies, or to move quickly into leadership roles;

• Providing a supportive and structured environment in which students are encouraged to develop independent learning skills;

• Promoting educational opportunities for mature and alternatively qualified students, as well as for school-leavers and traditionally qualified students.

Entry Requirements

  • STPM - CGPA of 2.0 including Maths ( 3 best subjects + General Paper)
  • UEC - BBBBB, including Advanced Maths II
  • HSC - 10 units with UAI of 78 including Physics, Maths Ext.1 or Maths Ext. 2
  • A-Level - 3 principals with at least 3 Cs including MAthematics (min 240 UCAS points)
  • SAM - 5 subjects with TER of 78, including Maths Studies & Specialist Maths
  • Foundation - Pass in all subjects with 55%  average in Maths and Mechanics  Modules
  • Diploma - INTI Diploma in Engineering or other equivalent Diploma in Engineering
  • CPU - 6 passes with an average of 72, subjects including Calculus, Algebra & Geometry at minimum score of 75
