English Improvement Programme
Programme Description
English Improvement Programme (EIP) is a general English Proficiency Programme designed for non-native speaking students who wish to improve their English Language skills. This helps them prepare for their further studies delivered in English at the undergraduate level at INTI College.
EIP is a flexible, modular course of instruction covering three levels, taking learners from complete beginners' level to a level equivalent to IELTS 5.0. It is an integrated package of English Language teaching materials for teachers and students.
EIP consists of parallel online and print-based resources. It is delivered:
- online
- face-to-face, using print and audio resources
- in blended mode, using some online and some print-based resources
Course Structure
The English Improvement Programme (EIP) is divided into 4 levels. They are:
- EIP 110 Beginner English
- EIP 120: Pre-Intermediate English
- EIP 130: Intermediate English
- EIP 140: Upper-Intermediate English
Programme AIM
This programme covers different degrees of intensity and depth at each level.
Pre-Intermediate level
Students are exposed to basic vocabulary, grammar and language needs.
Intermediate level
Students are exposed to wider range of situations and learn more complex language skills.
Upper-Intermediate level
Students will be exposed to IELTS-based lessons.
Students who sign up for this programme will be assigned to the appropriate level on the basis of the results of an English Placement Test at the time of entry to the college. Upon successful completion of each of the above levels, students will be presented with a certificate of attendance.
The programme will cover 3 different degrees of intensity and depth in the areas of listening, speaking, reading and writing. The aims of the programme are to encourage a variety of challenging and interesting listening and reading activities and to stimulate discussions and role-plays.
Hours of Study
Students who enrol in the EIP programme will have 20 contact hours per week.
Altogether, the English Improvement Programme (EIP) consists of 20 hours weekly, covering the following components:
- IIE (Online supplementary materials
- Reading and Language Use
- Writing and Grammar
- Listening and Speaking
- EEL & Outings, Self-Access Learning Online

SPM / O-Level / Equivalent

The test is to enrol students at the correct level of entry into the course.
