Course Subjects
The HSC has a mix of external and internal assessment controlled by the Board of Studies, New South Wales. The external assessment which comprises 50% of the final marks, consists of a final examination held in October, which is set and marked in Australia. The Internal assessment, which accounts for the other 50% of the final marks, consists of assignments, projects and tests set and marked by INTI International College Penang. The assessment marks awarded by the College are moderated against the examination marks. The average of those two marks is used to determine eligibility for university entrance. Entry into universities depends on the Universities Admission Index (UAI). The UAI is a measure of a student's overall performance in comparison to all students taking the HSC. It provides the students with information on their achievement relative to other students. The maximum UAI is 100.00 which is awarded to the top group of students.
