Student Development Unit

The Student Development Unit has been set up principally to enhance our students’ emotional well-being towards achieving academic excellence. We encourage students who are anxious about certain personal or learning-related issues to share their concern with the Student Development Unit as we:

1.Assist students to map out solutions on a solution-focused approach;

2. Offer guidance assistance and encouragement to students along their journey of self-discovery, growth and development;

3.Help students to discover their talents and strengths;

4.Share with students the art of managing difficult situations positively and effectively;

5.Foster students’ personal growth – to empower them with a greater sense of competency;

6.Direct students to effectively turn fear into confidence, anxiety into motivation and adversity into opportunity;

We help students understand not only their own feelings, thinking and behaviour but also that of others around them. We are solution-focused, non-judgmental, forward-looking and we have full respect for privacy. Guidance counseling is gaining importance, particularly in view of the increasingly complex and fast-changing environment we are now living in, as it gears students to better adapt to the challenges of college life and hones their interpersonal skills which are pivotal to their success in life.
